Social Media is Great But Look in Your Own Backyard

I have connected with expertise in just about every conceivable area of life on Social Media – personal, business, recreation, health, and the list goes on and on.

I am one of the first to admit the great value I see in connecting with people from around the world.

There’s little chance I am going to connect with everyone I follow, sure, but when I need information on just about any subject, social media has proven itself a great source.

I like to build relationships and actually connect with my followers and those I follow and I have found great value in connecting with people closer to home.

Social Media or Look in Your Own Backyard?

Some time ago, I took the time to find, follow, and list local people on twitter.  Over the past several years, the volume and variety of expertise and information available locally has encouraged me.  From technical and healthy living information to cultural, charity, and news, there’s an incredible amount of information and a great collection of people available right in my town.

Are you looking to connect with developers for a project your involved with, some custom jewelry for a gift idea you have, an SEO expert, or perhaps a blog plugin developer, or social media expert… take a look at the local connections you could make by performing a little search for people in your own area. You never know who or what you might find.

Discover what you will find if you do an advanced search on Twitter.
